These statues are part of a larger personal project, but I think they deserve to get some spotlight on their own! For this project I am focusing on high-detail renderings, and reproducing the beautiful effects found in professional photography. The images are rendered with Maya's mental ray sun and sky.








All the fine details are sculpted in ZBrush. I then exported the normal/AO maps and a mid-level mesh with enough subdivisions to show a decent silhouette. I used a basic blinn material in for the textures in Maya, and combined it with the mib_grayball node in the shader network. I recently learned how to transfer ZMaterials to Maya, with the mib_grayball node to process the data in Maya.
